Victory — In-State Tuition in Wisconsin
A big victory for all students and groups in Wisconsin who have been pushing for in-state tuition.
We just got word this morning that the final budget, which will be signed this morning by Governor Jim Doyle, will include an in-state tuition provision. This will allow for students who graduate from a WI high-school to be eligible receive in-state tuition within the UW System and Wisconsin technical college schools.
Thank you to the many groups that have been fighting for this, specifically members of Voces de la Frontera. Check out their website for details and videos on how they were able to pull off such a win, this group is really amazing and if you are in Wisconsin you should definitely give them a call and find out what you can do to help out in Wisconsin.

Congratulations. Keep up the fight!
This is great great great news!
Very proud of you all! This is a testament of what DREAMers are capable of doing
Oh this is fantastic!!!!! Go Wisconsin!!
Good job, keep up the hard work until every state in this country pass the bill , for every graduate student be able to go to college , Florida should be next.
Yes. This shows what persistence and good organizing can accomplish. Congratulations!
That makes 11 states, plus Minnesota which has abolished out of state tuition altogether for a majority of its schools. To date, no state has repealed in-state tuition, once enacted.
I notice that the only Wisconsin Congresspeople who have signed on as cosponsors of the federal DREAM Act are Rep. Gwen Moore and Sen. Feingold. Several others hopefully now should be willing to follow suit to ensure that the state's investment in DREAM Act students is fully repaid.
We're working on it!!!!
Congrats to the Wisconsians and the Dream Activists that made this happen from KANSAS.
great job, make sure to call Jim Doyle and thank him
congrats!
Florida should be next.
