I just got a call from my friend Julio, he is detained at the Broward Detention Center, he called to say that his account was just closed and that he will be deported in a matter of hours. I met Julio when we infiltrated the detention center, he is a hardworking guy who only came here when two of his brothers were murdered in Mexico.

Senator Nelson is the ONLY person who can help Julio and yet, despite being a democrat, he is refusing to help my friend. I need your help, will you make a phone call to Senator Nelson an demand that he take action to stop Julio’s deportation?

“Hi, I was calling regarding the case of Julio Blanco (A#205-344-735). He is a low-priority case and the Senator is the only one who can stop his deportation. Why is the Senator not taking any action? Has the Senator called John Morton directly? Deporting Julio is in violation of the low-priority memo issued by ICE. Why is the Senator allowing for this to happen?”

If they office tells you they are working with the family let them know they aren’t doing enough. Tell them just forwarding a message to ICE is not enough. Ask them: “Has the Senator called John Morton directly himself?” Do not let them off the hook.

Senator Nelson’s office is playing games with all of our lives; do not let him off the hook! We have worked on over 180 deportation cases and we have never had a Senator refuse to call ICE directly and make so many excuses.
