Scholarship for District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia Undocumented Youth

Keep an eye out for this if you are an immigrant (undocumented can apply too!) student in District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia.  Last year they awarded $50,000 and this year they hope to double that amount.  Their site has very little information right now, but they expect to launch the scholarship again soon!

I applaud The Esperanza Education Fund for extending support to the undocumented students. As parents, we lamented the lack of support for these students, and struggled to put our children through college on our own with no available help at the time. Now that my children have graduated despite the lack of help, it frustrates us that they can not put their education to good use. They are even willing to go with unpaid internships, but even these are scarce. When will the government act to put all these talents to good use by giving these kids a shot at the American Dream? Please pass CIR! Please pass the Dream ACT.
