Help! DREAMers Descend onto Capitol Hill – Sponsor one for $25

In just 22 days over 400 DREAM Act supporters will be gathering in Washington D.C. to attend the annual DREAM Act graduation. This year we’ll be working hard to highlight the plight of DREAMers as well as the need for not only legislation, but also executive action by the President. This means we need a lot of voices here in Washington D.C. to tell our stories and that’s why we need your support in sponsoring a student to D.C.

Sponsor a DREAMer to D.C. for $25!

As of now we have five buses confirmed from as far as Texas, that’s over 250 DREAMers! We are hoping, with your help, to be able to sponsor at least another 150 students so they can make the journey, that’s a total of almost $4,000 we are hoping to raise.  Will you help us make this graduation possible by sponsoring a student to D.C?

Thanks to support from people just like you, in 2010, we were able to bring together over 400 students for the same graduation. Since then many of those who attended have told us that the graduation was the first time they realized that they aren’t in this fight alone, that there are students just like them all across the country fighting for the same thing. With your help we hope to bring that same sense of unity to another class of DREAMers. A $25 donation will help us sponsor one rider. A $50 donation will help us sponsor 2 riders. A $150 donation will help us sponsor 6 riders. Anything helps.

Thank you for your support. At the National Immigrant Youth Alliance we are super excited for all the new faces we are going to see and all the new activists joining this fight.

P.S. You can also help support the D.C. graduation by grabbing some of the cool DREAM Act gear. We just stocked up on our bracelets and postcards, both great contributions to any Dream Activists tool-box!

Dreamers, I will not miss this event for anything in the world. I’d like to know if you would agree that carrying copies of our HS and/or College diplomas is a good adea for the press to show tangible evidence we are indeed brain aseets for this great nation. My sister and I both have MBAs and some friends have undergraduate degrees. Kindly comment. :-)
