On July 11th, 2012, Marco Saavedra allowed for himself to be detained by immigration authorities in Miami, Florida in hopes that he would be sent to the Broward Detention Center, Florida. The goal being to then organize with other undocumented migrants detained there, to collect their stories and to shed light as to what really happens behind closed doors. As planned, Marco was detained. He was sent to Broward and helped collect over 100 stories of detainees that should not be there.
