DREAM on the News – 11/30/10

Let’s look at some of Tuesday’s articles on the DREAM Act. You know you want to!

Top 5 #DREAMAct News from Tuesday, Nov. 30th:

The New York Times is DREAMing of Reform by endorsing the DREAM Act. Quoting from the article that is SO SPOT ON: “If the Dream Act passes, credit must go to those who have fought for it most strenuously, at greater personal risk and inconvenience than anyone else: the young people whose futures it will decide. Thousands of students, calling themselves “undocumented and unafraid,” have led an admirable campaign of advocacy under the threat of arrest and deportation.”  HELL YEAH.

DREAMers are rocking it in Denver! Thanks to them, The Denver City Council joined a list of cities in support of the DREAM Act. The proclamation was supported by 10 Councilmen and women.

The Huffington Post reports that we have the support from Sen. Lugar and Sen. Bennett; as if there was any doubt this was a bi-partisan bill. Read all about it: Whipping the DREAM Votes.

Do the DREAMers in the picture look familiar? They’re part of the DREAM Army that’s sweeping the nation. The New York Times reports on the efforts to get this bill passed.

As the DREAM Act gets closer to getting a vote (are you calling?), Senators like Maria Cantwell (WA) are voicing their support for the bill; article by the Huffington Post. Let’s make this happen!
