This isn’t just about the Walter Laras, but about a whole community in need of help–a community of immigrant youth that were brought here without consent and have no means of achieving legal status. The extreme right-wingers tell us to ‘go home’ when this is our home. Privileged leftist bloggers love to reduce our movement to the discourse of good immigrant/bad immigrant, but those of us living in the shadows and fighting for our basic civil rights know that there is so much more to the struggle than that.
