The Action week is right around the corner and so far we have just under 50 actions in 16 states. We know several organizations are still planning actions and so this number will certainly rise. Check out the list below and see if you can attend one of these:

ARIZONA
West Valley: Goal for a Dream
We will host a soccer tournament to raise awareness about the Dream Act and have some fun in the sun. Eight local high school soccer teams will go against each other and fight for the top spot! We will have information booths, music and activities for the entire family.

Central Valley: Bread & Roses
This will be open mic event where individuals who support the DREAM Act would like to express their culture, whatever it may be, through any medium. There will be poetry, dancing, live music, & food. Performances by: Thomas Karmelo, Myrlin Hepworth, Merary & Celso, Ruben Lucio, Enuf & Abraham Drinkin, and local bands!
We will be serving enchiladas de pollo, nachos, rice & beans, and pan dulce. There will also be a video presentation of “3 Minutes of your Time”. So come out to learn more about the DREAM Act, enjoy the blending of the cultures, & get to know some of the wonderful students that this bill would benefit. NO COVER CHARGE

East Valley: Dream Act Play
ADAC along with MEChA de MCC invite you to a play by James E. Garcia, “Dream Act.”
“Dream Act” tells the story of Victoria Nava, an undocumented immigrant and university student who dreams of practicing medicine. Homeless and afraid of being deported in the face of an immigration crackdown, Victoria’s dream of graduating from college is slipping away. The performance will be followed by a short discussion with the playwright and experts on the Dream Act, a proposed federal law that would provide a path to citizenship for the more than 65,000 undocumented young people who graduate from high school in the United States each year. The play is approximately 50 minutes in duration.

- The organization CADENA based out of Chandler-Phoenix will be conducting a letter writing and postcard campaign directed at Arizona media, Arizona Congressional Delegation, and Congress representatives.
ARKANSAS
- The organization Natural Dreamers from Fayetteville will be hosting a vigil for the DREAM Act in front of the Union at the University of Arkansas campus Thursday, on February 25, 2010 from 5:30pm – 7:30pm. For more information contact Juan Mendez at (479) 263-9934

- DREAMS at UC Irvine is hosting a full roster of DREAM ACT events during week of action. On Monday Feb. 22nd : OPEN MIC & AB540 STORIES, ICS 174 starting at 7pm. On Wednesday the 24th, there will be a screening of “PAPERS” THE MOVIE ,ICS 174 at 7pm. “Papers” is the story of undocumented youth and the challenges they face as they turn 18 without legal status.

UC-Santa Cruz
Wednesday in Oakes room 105 there will be a teach-in from 7-9pm about the issues of undocumented students and higher education. On Friday from noon to 1:30pm in the Conference C room there will be short film screenings on AB 540. The films are written and produced by students, and there will be free pan dulce. DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA
- Georgetown University College Democrats are hosting a DREAM Act Educational Forum. This will be a roundtable discussion with two undocumented students and representatives of the DREAM Act, along with a possible Jesuit who works on immigration issues. FLORIDA
- The Latin American Coalition based out of Ft. Pierce will be hosting a rally in order to draw attention to the DREAM Act, Trail of Dream, and Reform Immigration for America Campaign. - The Florida State University will host a full DREAM Act week of action with several events lined up for each day. The Hispanic Latino Student Union in collaboration with several other student organizations will host everything from movie screenings, to water balloon fights.
- March to the Florida Capitol from Florida State Campus (Tallahassee) to meet Mayor Marks who will speak about education. - Students from The University of South Florida will conduct tabling during “Bull Wednesday†on campus and try to garnish support via petition signatures for a resolution on their campus. - University of Florida’s CHISPAS will host a movie screening and hosting an info session about the DREAM Act and the current situation with our immigration system. There will be petitions passed around for the DREAM Act as well as a petition to allow University of Florida to be more inclusive of undocumented youth since their President announced his support of the DREAM Act. - After our week of action, be sure to check out DREAMS UNPLUGGED a concert featuring several bands who hope to bring to light similar stories to the ones from the Trail of Dream walkers. All proceeds will be given to the Trail of Dreams. Thew concert will take place on March 7th in the city of Duluth. 2029 Old Norcross Rd. the name of the venue is Sweetwater Bar & Grill.
- La Coalicion de Lideres Latinos based out of Dalton will be doing tabling, movie screening and petition signatures. There will be a solidarity action with the Trail of Dreams.

KANSAS
- Latinos United Now and Always is hosting a rally to remind Janet Murguia, President of National Council of La Raza (the largest Latino civil rights and advocacy association) of the urgency of passing the DREAM Act. The event will take place Thursday, February 25, 2010 from 7:30pm – 9:00pm at University of Kansas – Woodruff Auditorium in the KS Union, 1301 Jayhawk Blvd., Lawrence, KS. Attendees are urged to wear their graduation caps during the lecture to remind Janet that every year 65,000 undocumented students graduate from US high school to find their DREAMs deferred.
