ABOUT US

The United We DREAM (UWD) Network is a national youth-led network building a movement for opportunity and justice among immigrant youth from communities most impacted by immigration restriction and policy reform. We use leadership development, policy advocacy, strategic alliance building, training and organizing to pursue our mission at the local, state and national levels.

We advocate for the DREAM Act legislation that would allow undocumented immigrant youth who have grown up in the US a pathway to citizenship after completing at least two years of higher education or military service. We also advocate for universal access to state and federal financial aid for higher education. Above all, we are working to create a society where all youth can seek to work and participate with dignity and recognition. The National Immigration Law Center (NILC) is the fiscal sponsor of the UWD Network.
THE POSITION:

The National Coordinator will provide support to youth leaders within the UWD Network across the country. The UWDN is establishing five regional hubs across the US to connect the hundreds of youth initiatives working for the Dream Act in local communities and campuses, and to broaden programs for leadership development and civic engagement.  The National Coordinator will work with each of these hubs to deepen the organizing and training infrastructure, expand the resources available to local groups, and facilitate coordination among student/youth organizations and their allies at the local, regional, and national level.   The National Coordinator will be an employee of NILC and will work out of NILC’s Washington, DC office.
