The responses don't show acculturation, they show poor judgment and immaturity to say the least. It shows the vicious cycle of negativity that makes the world such a hard place to live in and that my fellow dreamie has a trickling effect. Its part of the reason why immigration is so difficult now and why they are "POLICING" the borders so heavily because of the fear of having to deal with the migrating problems on top of the natural born ones (LOOK AT THE BIGGER PICTURE). The first step to a solution, is recognizing there is a problem. I also strongly believe that Lupe got lucky at the time that she applied for her adjustment of status. I don't know her age, but I know that the immigration laws were much more lenient back then versus now. If she would not have been so lucky back then, more than likely she would be worse off than Nancy, without an education and to top it off, stuck cleaning hotel rooms or behind the kitchen of a MEXICAN restaurant. She is a disgrace to my culture, and SHE definitely is the nightmare. Mexicans have always been known for their hospitality and compassion, Lupe Moreno obviously lacks all these qualities. She does belong here, in a country where culture is nonexistent and White supremacy rules, but she lacks two things: A name and the color of her skin. Lupe should worry about getting an education herself instead of bashing her own race. IGNORANT is the perfect way to describe Lupe in one word.
