Dianne Feinstein has introduced a private bill that would allow Arthur Mkoyan and his family to stay in the United States indefinitely.
The bill will now have to pass through both the House of Representatives and the Senate. If the bill clears those hurdles, it will then move on to Senator Ted Kennedy’s sub-committee on immigration, where it will be investigated. In the meantime, the Mkoyan family will be allowed to remain in the U.S.
Private bills do not enjoy a high success rate. None have been passed since 2005. Deportation cases like that of Arthur Mkoyan can be prevented by passing the DREAM Act.
We would like to thank everyone for their support. Phe Facebook support group for Arthur Mkoyan is here*

This is great news!
I know
P.S. FYI haters, this is undocumented youth space i.e. pro-migrant. If you have xenophobic and hateful comments to make, you are free to do so in the restrict-osphere.
wow that is amazing news! Hopefully other children in the same boat will also be given some sort of reprieve.
Great site!
There was another teen who was also valedictorian of his class and was an illegal immigrant and happened to be deported back to MEXICO. I wonder if the this case is different because of the color of ones skin or maybe of the country one is from.
It does happen Roland, sadly enough. I caught the reference in the Rubin Navarette Jr. article.
But here, on this site, we are against the deportation of all DREAM Act eligible students regardless of national origin.
The more students we can help, the better.
