  • Kemi (Texas) – Co-Policy coordinator and Accounting / Finance
  • Maria (Pennsylvania) – Co-Policy coordinator and Merchandising

Maria was brought to the United States from Peru at the age of 12.  She has lived in Pennsylvania for nine years.  She currently resides in Philadelphia where she is pursuing a degree in Political Science.  In the future, she hopes to attend graduate school and work in the non-profit sector to improve the lives of immigrants in the country.

  • Mohammad (Michigan) – Outreach
  • Prerna (California) – New Media and Networking

Prerna immigrated to the United States from Fiji with her family when she was 14 but due to USCIS teetering with CSPA regulations, she aged out on their visa petition after turning 21. She has a Masters degree in International Relations, serves as an Editor of The Sanctuary and as an Immigration blogger at Change.org.

  • Mark (Illinois)

Mark was brought to the United States at a young age. In the 20 years he has lived in America, he has been fortunate enough to live in multiple states, including Illinois and California. Currently he resides in Pennsylvania, where he plans to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science.

  • Piash (New Jersey) and Juan (Florida) — Media relations / Communications

Piash was born in Bangladesh, brought to the U.S. at the age of 10. He considers himself Bangladeshi-American. He is attending college and pursuing a degree in Political Science.

Juan came to the United States at the age of 11.  After filing all his papers and paying all his fees and taxes, he became a victim of the broken system coupled with an incompetent lawyer; hence, became undocumented by no fault of his own.  Currently he his going to school, pursuing a bachelors in Political Science and becoming involved within his school and community.  He works on the DREAM Act during all hours of the day, from every means of communication and technology.  Need or have media coverage? Juan is your guy!

  • Gabe and Ana (California) — Data Managers (petition etc.)

Gabriel was brought to the United States in 1989 due to Mexico’s economic collapse. He has lived in America for 20 years, during which he has fully assimilated and obtained a Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering. Currently he works odd jobs by day and fights for the DREAM Act by night.

Ana was brought to the United States at the age of 14, after her family’s economic situation took a turn for the worse. A year after her arrival, her mother filed a petition for permanent residency through her naturalized aunt. Unfortunately, as she found out a couple of years ago, neither her nor her family will be able to benefit from said petition. The USCIS agent forgot to mention that they do not qualify for 245-I, meaning that they would have to leave the country in order to obtain permanent residency. This would trigger a 10-year-ban from the U.S., making the petition worthless. In the meantime, she has earned a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, volunteered countless of hours, and fallen in love with California’s landscapes.

  • Matias (D.C.) — Editor
  • Kyle (Massachusetts — Citizen Orange) — Manager / Adviser

Kyle was born and raised in Guatemala of U.S. citizen parents, and was reborn as a migrant rights activist, journalist, and organizer after he almost lost his life retracing the route of a Guatemalan migrant into the U.S.  Kyle thinks it’s ridiculous that many of the youth he works with are denied the right to exist in the only country they know as their home, especially considering they’ve lived in the U.S. longer than he has.
